The Greening Campaign started in 2016 with a main focus of restoring the degraded areas within Mpimbwe District Council as well as inculcating the awareness of green behavior on the environment. Up to date, through our annual tree planting events, we have managed, we have managed to plant over 200,000 trees of different species that provide the locals with fuel, timber, fruits and medicine.

We also conduct community awareness, training on, environmental friendly economic pursuits, environmental friendly energy sources on and provide environmental education to youth in schools and out of school.

This campaign also support AFR100 commitment (the African Forest Landscape Restoration Initiative) which is a country-led effort to bring 100 million hectares of land in Africa into restoration by 2030. Tanzania committed to restore 5.2 million hectares.
